Change the Game Seminar

Middleton is hosting a Changing the Game ( Changing the Game Project) seminar coming up on 10/21 at 2:30 (parents) and 5:00 (coaches). The tickets are free and open to the public at the links below.

The mission of the Changing the Game Project is to ensure that we return youth sports to our children, and put the ‘play’ back in ‘play ball.’  We want to provide the most influential adults in our children’s lives – their parents and coaches – with the information and resources they need to make sports a healthy, positive, and rewarding experience for their children, and their whole family.  Parenting and coaching young athletes is an art, not a science, and the information you find here can help you navigate the maze of youth sports, and put a smile on your young athlete’s face, whether he or she is 6 or 16 years old.

New to Hockey - Start with one of our beginning skater programs

Are you interested in introducing your child to skating and the sport of ice hockey?  If so, either the Learn to Skate (LTS) or Learn To Play (LTP) program is ideal.

LTS program
Learn the fundamentals of skating. The LTS program has two sessions.  Each session runs about 10 weeks with a 1 hour practice session per week. Practice times and days may vary, but will typically be early Saturday mornings. Once the schedule is available you may access it on the website (see the link below). Skates and a hockey or bike helmet is all that is needed.  Click here for more information about Learn to Skate.

LTP program
Children continue the fundamentals of skating with added hockey skills and scrimmages during practice. Full hockey equipment is required.  There is one, 1 hour practice per week.

Rink Rats
NOTE: Unfortunately we do not have enough kids to allow for a Rink Rat program the 2018-19 season. Please contact the squirt or peewee Age Level Director (ALD)for options or send an email to info@wildcathockey.org. We will continue to try to start and build our Rink Rat developmental program for future seasons. Rink Rats is a full ice developmental program but geared toward those new or recently new to hockey that are 9, 10, 11, or 12 years old and want a full ice experience. This is an affordable program with less of a time committment but will still allow your skater to experience full ice hockey games and develop as a skater and player through practices. Generally this program will consist of 1 to sometimes 2 practices a week and generally 1 game per weekend.
